Volunteering at the
Girls Club is a great way to "make a difference" in a young
child's life.
The Girls Club is
constantly in need of extra helping hands. Volunteers should have a personal
stake in the work they do at the Girls Club. Volunteers are able to:
- observe children
in educational situations and
recreational play;
- engage in one-on-one
relationships providing hands on assistance to children in need of specific
attention;
- aid in program
planning and development; and
- develop lasting
friendships with influential and educational implications.
All volunteers at
the Girls Club will go through an interview process with the program or athletic director.
Depending on the area
in which volunteers choose to become involved, responsibilities will vary.
However, volunteers are accountable for providing positive, enriching
experiences that will enhance the overall time the girls spend at the
Girls Club.
Volunteers do not
have to make a minimum time commitment and therefore are able to donate
as much time as they choose.
